Heartbreaking Moment As Sole Air India Survivor Limpingly Carries Brother’s Coffin At Funeral

Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, the only survivor of the recent Air India Flight AI171 crash, was seen limping and emotional as he carried the coffin of his brother Ajay, who perished in the tragedy. Both brothers had been traveling on the ill-fated flight from Ahmedabad to London when it crashed into a residential area shortly after takeoff, killing 241 people, including Ajay.

Ramesh, seated in seat 11A, escaped just before the wreckage caught fire. Devastated, he attempted to re-enter the burning wreckage to save his brother. Emergency responders restrained him and rushed him to the hospital with visible injuries and shock.

The Boeing 787 lost power minutes after takeoff and crashed into the BJ Medical College campus, igniting a massive fireball. Preliminary investigations suggest the plane may have been operating on an emergency generator, raising questions about engine failure and mechanical issues.

Indian authorities, with support from the US, UK, and Boeing, are analyzing black box data to determine the cause. Investigators are reviewing pilot training, communication logs, flight data, and possible mechanical faults.

Despite his injuries and trauma, Ramesh honored his brother at the funeral, refusing help as he carried the flower-covered casket—a heartbreaking symbol of both survival and loss.
