Health officials are warning consumers to stop eating Floria Dried Apricots (exp. Nov 2026) sold by Turkana Food Inc. due to undeclared sulfites, a preservative that can trigger severe allergic reactions in sensitive individuals.
The recall affects products sold in 19 states and identified by LOT #440090478-15-333 and UPC 2539560010. No illnesses have been reported yet.
Sulfite sensitivity affects 13 million Americans, especially those with asthma. Symptoms include hives, breathing issues, and even life-threatening reactions.
Consumers are urged to return the apricots for a refund. Turkana Food Inc. has not yet issued a statement.
