The morning my family arrived at my door with a moving truck, they seemed completely certain about how the day would end. My parents stood confidently in the driveway while my older sister, Ashley, carried a folder she believed would support her claims regarding my home. Several movers waited nearby, ready to begin work. They expected me to feel pressured into giving up the property my grandparents had left me. What they did not realize was that years earlier, I had taken an important legal step that would help protect my future and honor my grandparents’ wishes.
