The sale of a potentially $25 million legal claim against Erika Jayne for $2 million was approved by a Los Angeles bankruptcy court Thursday.
Erika Jayne legal shocker: Court approves sale of trustee claim against Bravo star for $2M
Trustee Elissa D. Miller was given a clearance by the court to sell the rights to a $25 million lawsuit against Jayne in a fraudulent conveyance case, according to legal docs reviewed by the Daily Mail.
The rights were sold to LHA Land LLC, who will pursue the Bravo star, 54, for recoupment of $25 million her ex-husband Tom Girardi’s firm had on its books related to her expenses.
Jayne previously has denied allegations of wrongdoing, claiming she was not aware of her estranged husband’s financial problems.
Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Jayne for further comment on the story.
Trustee attorney Ronald Richards told the Daily Mail that he was ‘satisfied’ with the results of Thursday’s court ruling.

‘I’ve spent five years pursuing Erika Girardi to bring justice to the victims of her husband’s fraud,’ he said. ‘I am satisfied that those efforts have resulted in creating a value of $2 million to the’ trustees.
Richards continued, ‘Hopefully that money will go to reimburse the victims who lost their hard-earned settlements as a result of her husband’s fraudulent behavior.’
Tom Girardi, 86, in June of 2025 was sentenced to more than seven years in prison following his 2024 conviction after he was found guilty of four counts of wire fraud.
Jayne, who parted ways with Girardi in 2020 after a 21-year marriage, spoke about the ongoing litigation in a reunion episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills which aired Thursday.
Asked by host Andy Cohen what she would do if she loses the $25 million civil fraud lawsuit, Jayne said, ‘You can file for bankruptcy, or you can fight it out in court.’
Jayne, appearing in the first installment of the reunion show, continued, ‘You can go to trial, you can cut a deal, you can die in the streets – I have no idea.’
Girardi, a one-time personal injury attorney, was found guilty of four counts of wire fraud, following a trial that lasted 13 days in August of 2024.
Prosecutors said that he had defrauded his clients of more than $15 million over a decade-long span from 2010 to 2020.

Girardi was ordered to pay $2.3 million to the people he defrauded and a $35,000 fine. Jayne has been named in the aforementioned $25 million litigation based off the expenses related to her work his firm apparently footed the bill for.
Jayne was asked by Cohen during Thursday’s broadcast what the top question she would ask Girardi was, if she had the chance to.
She said the question she would ask was ‘Why?’ in reference to the multitude of legal issues she’s dealing with in the years after their split.

‘Why did he throw me out like that?’ Jayne said. ‘If you think about it, I’m in an almost impossible situation. I’m swimming under all of these lawsuits.’
She opened up about the hostile home life she faced living with Girardi during their marriage.
‘I walked on ice a lot with Tom,’ Jayne said. ‘Looking back at it, it was always thin ice. It was constantly an interrogation – it was constantly a battle.’
Jayne said that at one point Girardi ignored her for six weeks during a timeframe in which they lived with one another.
‘As sweet as Tom could be, is as vicious as Tom could be,’ Jayne said on Thursday’s broadcast.
Girardi has dealt with health issues, as he was diagnosed in 2021 with Alzheimer’s disease, and placed in a conservatorship under the care of his brother Robert Girardi that year.
In 2024, a judge said that Girardi had been mentally competent to face his sentence, as he had been to stand trial.
Girardi denied defrauding anyone of any money while testifying in Los Angeles in 2024, according to Courthouse News Service, telling the court, ‘The last thing I would do would be to take someone’s money – I wouldn’t think of it.’
Girardi had made multiple appearances on the Bravo series during his marriage to Jayne.
Prior to his fall from grace – including a 2022 disbarment – Girardi had established himself as a high-profile injury attorney known to tangle with large corporations over major incidents.
A lawsuit against Pacific Gas and Electric utility resulted in a $333 million settlement, and was depicted on the silver screen in the 2000 Steven Soderbergh motion picture Erin Brockovich, which starred Julia Roberts in the title role.
Girardi said in his testimony of the film, ‘That became an award-winning movie.’
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills can be seen on Bravo Thursdays at 8/7c.
