It was supposed to be nothing special.
Just a used washing machine I found for cheap. The kind of purchase you don’t think twice about — practical, simple, forgettable.\
It worked fine at first. Loud, a little old, but it did the job.
Then one evening, I heard something strange.
A faint clinking sound during the spin cycle. Not coins. Not buttons. Something heavier.
Curious, I stopped the machine and reached inside. My fingers brushed against something cold, stuck deep near the rubber seal.
I pulled it out slowly…
