This is Shrimpina. She was abandoned in a cardboard box at the doorstep of a rescue — no blanket, no food, no comfort. Just a box and goodbye.
Her back legs wouldn’t move. A damaged spine had taken away her ability to stand or walk. She couldn’t even scoot herself closer to warmth. So she stayed curled up, quiet and still, waiting… because she had no other choice.
The world must have felt so large and so unbearably cold. No familiar scent. No loving touch. Only silence and the loneliness of being left behind.
Next to her was a brief note: “Found dog. No owner has reached out.”
As though her entire existence could be reduced to a few careless words.
When the staff found her, she didn’t cry or struggle. She only lifted her eyes — eyes filled with fear, confusion, and a fragile thread of hope.
She wasn’t broken. She wasn’t unwanted. She just needed care and compassion.
All she ever wanted was to feel safe, to feel warm, and to know she was still worthy of love.
