Heidi’s letter was crafted in response to her 13-year-old son treating her more like a “roommate” than a parent. To highlight the responsibilities of independence, she presented him with a detailed bill listing rent, food, and various other expenses that added up to over $700. The idea was to give him a glimpse into what living on his own would truly require.

The letter was affectionately signed, “Love, Mom,” emphasizing that her actions were rooted in love and concern.
