Washington, D.C. – The political firestorm surrounding the January 6 Capitol riot is far from over. In a surprising move, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) is now calling for an investigation—not into the rioters—but into the very people who led the original probe.
Jordan claims that the January 6 Committee, led by Democrats, wasn’t seeking justice but was instead being used as a tool to take down former President Donald Trump. He says the committee ignored key national issues such as the border crisis, crime surges, and inflation, focusing instead on building a political narrative.
“The American people deserve the whole truth, not just a one-sided story written for headlines,” Jordan said during a recent press appearance.
Backed by a Republican-controlled Congress, Jordan and other GOP leaders are pushing to launch a new investigation. This time, the spotlight will turn toward potential security lapses at the Capitol and internal decisions made before and during the riot. Rep. Barry Loudermilk is set to lead the new committee, which will reportedly be given full funding and subpoena power.
