Father of teen accused of killing 17-year-old at track meet speaks out on the shocking incident

Karmelo Anthony, a 17-year-old student from Frisco Centennial High School, has been charged with first-degree murder following the death of Austin Metcalf, another 17-year-old student,

after a track meet altercation in Frisco, Texas. The incident occurred on April 2, 2025, at Kuykendall Stadium, where a fight led to Metcalf being stabbed.

Despite efforts to save him, he died from his injuries. Metcalf’s twin brother, Hunter, tried to intervene but couldn’t prevent the tragedy. Anthony’s father defended his son, claiming he wasn’t the aggressor.

Metcalf, described as a bright student and football player, was remembered fondly by his family and community. The incident has deeply affected both families and the Frisco community.
