The widow of Charlie Kirk made an emotional gesture during her late husband’s memorial service yesterday (September 21).
Earlier this month, the late political activist and Turning Point USA figurehead was fatally gunned down whilst speaking at the Utah Valley University campus.
The 31-year-old left behind wife Erika Kirk and their two young kids.
His funeral unfolded at the home of NFL team Arizona Cardinals over the weekend, in front of tens of thousands of supporters and MAGA dignitaries, with tributes being paid by president Donald Trump, his underling JD Vance and the heartbroken Mrs Kirk.
One moment in particular stood out during the mother’s speech; positioning her left fingers in a certain way and pointing them towards the sky – but what did it all mean?
According to Lingvano, Kirk performed an ‘I love you’ gesture.
To do so in American Sign Language, you must form an ‘L’ with your thumb and index finger, keeping them extended and then lift your little finger.
The middle and ring fingers need to keep touching your palm, and finally, direct the hand towards the person you’re addressing.
By aiming her hand upward, Kirk was sending a message to her beloved husband waiting for her in heaven.
Elsewhere in her tribute, the 36-year-old said of the deceased: “He left this world without regret. He did 100 per cent of what he could every day. But I want you to know something: Charlie died with incomplete work, but not with unfinished business.”
She then proceeded to reveal she’d forgiven her husband’s assassin, currently believed to be Tyler Robinson.
“I forgive him because it is what Christ did. Father, forgive them, for they not know what they do.”
She then said Mr Kirk ‘wanted to save young men, just like the one who took his life’, before announcing that she would be carrying the torch as Turning Point USA’s CEO and chairwoman.
The world ‘needs a group that will point young people away from the path and misery and sin,’ added the widow, “and so, I promise you today, every part of our work will become greater.”
The fallen right-wing commentator will soon be posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Trump.
In other news, Mr Kirk’s surgeon allegedly told TPUSA member Andrew Kolvet that the victim ‘miraculously’ saved other people’s lives on the day he died for one reason.
