Brandon Blackstock, Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband, had quietly found love again before his d**th. The former music manager, who d**d on Aug. 7 at age 48 after a private battle with melanoma, was in a relationship with Brittney Marie Jones and building a new life with her in Montana. The couple’s romance, revealed in his recently published obituary was unknown to many fans.
Blackstock and Clarkson were married from 2013 to 2020 and shared two children — daughter River, 11, and son Remington, 9.
The no longer available obituary stated “After more than 20 years in the music business, Brandon found his way back to the mountains and the cowboy way of life he always wanted to live,’ the obituary read per the Daily Mail. “He found a homestead and a love in Butte, Montana.”
“Brandon, along with his beautiful and loving partner in life and business, Brittney Marie Jones, started building a life, building companies, and working tirelessly to create Headwaters Livestock Auction and what will live on as his legacy, The Valley View Rodeo in Bozeman, Montana.”

In a b0mbshell twist, a December 2024 report on Blackstock and Jones’s rodeo business identified Jones as Kelly Clarkson’s “former assistant.”
According to the Daily Mail, a previous LinkedIn profile for Jones — cited in the report — revealed she had worked as Brandon Blackstock’s executive assistant and also served as Kelly Clarkson’s assistant during the time Blackstock managed the singer.
“I successfully assistant managed day to day for artist, Kelly Clarkson under manager, Brandon Blackstock in Los Angeles for music and television,” the profile stated according to The Sun.
