Melania Trump Moves Many with a Heartfelt Message at the Women of Courage Awards

Most First Ladies have some sort of agenda and they like to stick with it, not only when their husband is in office but when they are out of office as well. For First Lady Melania Trump, however, things have been relatively quiet.

Although the First Lady has been quiet when it comes to political affairs, there are times when she stands up and does something amazing for others. This includes recently when she delivered a speech about bravery and strength at the Women of Courage Awards.

Melania Trump was on hand that day to empower other women who have done extraordinary things in their lives. In her speech, she related stories that remind us of the courage that comes from being compassionate.

In case you are unfamiliar with these awards, they recognize female leaders from around the world. The women are not only leaders, they have also shown courage in their lives in a personal way and have often helped communities, making additions that have impacted others in a positive way.

In addition, the US government was also recognized in this event, as Pres. Trump also supports girls and women on international platforms. Katrina Fotovat was also at the event to speak and she emphasized the US government and how it was committed to empowering women to help secure the world.

From Papua New Guinea, Major Velena Iga was on hand, as she was trying her best to protect women in that country from violent actions. This is not only something that benefits women, it provides a safer space for everyone.

One woman who founded an organization to combat forced marriage in South Sudan is Zabib Musa Loro Bakhit. She was motivated by her own childhood experiences and more than 50,000 survivors have benefited from her efforts.

Georgiana Pascu, from Romania, is fighting for the rights of disabled people who are not getting treated fairly. She advocates for those and tries to put the tools in place to help make the world a better place.

Many people were surprised when Amit Soussana’s story was told. She survived captivity and went on to be a powerful force of hope to many around the world.

Melania Trump went on to address the central theme of the awards in her remarks. It is about how love is behind the courage that women exercise on a daily basis. She says that the fuel for their advocacy is the same love they display.
