The United States state of Texas was rocked by tragedy when a 17-year-old girl lost her life rescuing

her family during the severe flooding that struck the area in recent days.

The young woman, who was praised as a hero for her courageous deed, was able to open the car door and let her parents and younger siblings escape unharmed. But she didn’t make it out alive.

The family was trying to cross the Cow Creek Bridge in a rural area close to Marble Falls when a sudden surge caused floodwaters to quickly cover the bridge.

The family van was swept away as they drove through the building due to an unforeseen flood brought on by heavy rains.

At the time of the incident, the minor was traveling with her parents and younger siblings. She swam to break open the car door and let her family out after being carried away by the current.

She was swept away by the waters, but her loved ones made it to dry land.

After a thorough search by family members and local authorities, the young woman’s body was discovered three days later.

According to official statistics from state agencies, the incident occurs during a spate of floods that have killed or left over 100 people missing in Texas.

This fact demonstrates the harshness of the weather patterns that occasionally impact different parts of Texas and the susceptibility of rural communities to extreme natural events.

It also honors the courageous deed of a young girl who gave her life to save her loved ones, leaving a lasting impression on the collective memory of the community.
