Girls Missing After Texas Flood Surges 26 Feet In 45 Minutes

Timelapse footage reveals the devastating flash flood in Kerr County, Texas, which caused at least 51 deaths and left several girls missing from Camp Mystic, a summer camp near Kerrville. On July 4th, as the nation celebrated Independence Day, the Guadalupe River surged rapidly, flooding the area within minutes.

About 750 girls were at Camp Mystic, and rescuers are searching for up to 20 children who are unaccounted for. Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick said the missing children might not be lost but out of communication, while some families, including the mother of nine-year-old Janie Hunt, have sadly confirmed deaths.
