An elderly woman walked into the bar on a cruise ship and politely ordered a Scotch\u2014\u201cwith just two drops of water.\u201d<\/p>\n
When the bartender set the glass down, she smiled and said:
\n\u201cI\u2019m on this cruise to celebrate my 80th birthday\u2026 and today is the day.\u201d<\/p>\n
The bartender grinned. \u201cWell then, happy birthday! This one\u2019s on the house.\u201d<\/p>\n
After she finished, the woman beside her leaned over. \u201cI\u2019d love to buy you your next drink.\u201d
\nThe lady nodded. \u201cBartender, another Scotch with two drops of water.\u201d<\/p>\n
A short while later, a man on her other side offered the same. Again, she ordered Scotch with two drops of water.<\/p>\n
Finally, curiosity got the better of the bartender. \u201cMa\u2019am, if you don\u2019t mind me asking\u2026 why only two drops of water?\u201d<\/p>\n
The old woman giggled. \u201cSon, at my age, I know how to handle my liquor. Water, however, is a completely different challenge.\u201d<\/p>\n
Story Two: The Bank Withdrawal<\/p>\n
Another elderly woman walked into a bank one morning and handed her card to the teller.
\n\u201cI\u2019d like to withdraw $500, please.\u201d<\/p>\n
The teller replied coldly: \u201cFor withdrawals under $5,000, please use the ATM.\u201d<\/p>\n
The woman asked calmly: \u201cMay I ask why?\u201d
\nThe teller, irritated, said: \u201cThose are the rules. Please step aside if you have no other business.\u201d<\/p>\n
Without a word, the woman took back her card, then handed it over again.
