\u201cShe texted me from the plane and said, \u2018We\u2019re in trouble.\u2019 And that was it. We\u2019re devastated. We\u2019re brokenhearted,\u201d Cathy said through tears.
\nCathy also shared that Greg and Christina had visited her home just the day before.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t remember the last words I said to my daughter, Greg, or Ryder. I know we hugged, but those final words will haunt me. But they were happy,\u201d she added.
\nFriends Confirm the Tragedy<\/p>\n
Biffle\u2019s longtime friend Garrett Mitchell, known as Cleetus McFarland, confirmed the news on Facebook.<\/p>\n
\u201cUnfortunately, I can confirm Greg Biffle, his wife Cristina, daughter Emma, and son Ryder were on that plane\u2026because they were on their way to spend the afternoon with us. We are devastated. I\u2019m so sorry to share this.\u201d

An eyewitness near Lakewood Golf Club reported that the plane was flying \u201cway too low\u201d before the crash. The aircraft crashed around 10:15 a.m. and immediately caught fire.<\/p>\n
The Statesville Regional Airport confirmed the incident in a statement:<\/p>\n
\u201cWe can confirm there has been an aircraft incident at the Statesville Regional Airport. At approximately 10:15 a.m., an aircraft crashed while landing. The Federal Aviation Administration is en route and will investigate the incident.\u201d
