Jeffries cautioned those aligned with Trump, saying, \u201cFor people doing the bidding of the Trump administration or engaging in its schemes, the statute of limitations is five years.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jeffries also defended the Department of Justice, saying it remains one of the country\u2019s most important institutions. \u201cDonald Trump and these extremists have been destroying its integrity,\u201d he said, urging voters to support efforts to restore independence within the DOJ.<\/p>\n

While Jeffries\u2019 remarks reflect strong political criticism, the Supreme Court\u2019s immunity ruling did not grant a \u201cblanket\u201d protection from prosecution.
