The lifeless body of an unidentified young woman has been discovered in a hotel located in the Igbogene area of Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.<\/p>\n
The incident, which occurred on Saturday, has sparked concern among residents of the area.<\/p>\n
Community sources told PUNCH Metro that the deceased had checked into the hotel with a young man suspected to be an internet fraudster, commonly referred to as a \u2018Yahoo boy\u2019.<\/p>\n
However, shortly after they arrived, the man reportedly left the premises, leaving the woman behind.<\/p>\n
The hotel manager is said to have found the young woman\u2019s body and immediately reported the incident to the Igbogene Divisional Police Headquarters.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe lodged in the hotel with a suspected Yahoo boy who left immediately after.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe hotel manager who found the dead body reported the incident to the police at Igbogene,\u201d the source said.<\/p>\n
The Police Public Relations Officer in the Bayelsa State Police Command, Mr Musa Muhammad, confirmed the incident, saying an investigation is ongoing to ensure the culprits are brought to book.<\/p>\n
Mohammed said, \u201cWe received the report yesterday; though no arrest has been made for now, an investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are making serious enquiries to ensure that the culprits are brought to book. Also, an autopsy would be run on the deceased to ascertain the cause of the death.\u201d<\/p>\n
