The FBI has provided an update on their investigation into the murder of Charlie Kirk.<\/p>\n
Kirk was shot in the neck yesterday when he was speaking at an event at Utah Valley University.<\/p>\n

\nAfter being taken to the hospital, the 31-year-old passed away from his wounds. His wife and their two small children survive him.<\/p>\n
Although the shooter has not yet been apprehended, the FBI has stated that a gun thought to be the killer\u2019s has been found as part of a worldwide manhunt.<\/p>\n

\nThe firearm was a powerful bolt-action rifle, and according to FBI special agent in charge Robert Bohls, they think it was \u201cthe weapon that was used in yesterday\u2019s shooting.\u201d<\/p>\n
It is believed that the gunman fled the scene because the rifle was found in a wooded location.<\/p>\n
According to the BBC, the FBI has also discovered and is examining a \u201cfootwear impression, a palm print, and a forearm imprint.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nIn order to find the shooter, the FBI is mostly depending on the public\u2019s assistance. They have asked individuals to submit images and videos from yesterday\u2019s campus event.<\/p>\n
According to Bohls, they have already had 130 tips.<\/p>\n

\nIn other places, Bohls seemed to corroborate that the shooter is a man and that the FBI has pictures of the suspect that they intend to make public soon.<\/p>\n
The suspect is not believed to pose a threat to the larger community, Bohls continued.<\/p>\n
It is said that the shooter \u2018fitted in well with the college institution\u2019, indicating that he is of or near college age.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re not releasing many details right now. We will soon. But right now, we\u2019re not,\u201d Bohls said, adding: \u201cBut that individual appears to be of college age.\u201d<\/p>\n
Utah DPS Commissioner Beau Mason stated during the news conference that they currently have \u201cgood video footage\u201d of the suspect, which they are still reviewing.<\/p>\n
Mason has told Kirk\u2019s family that they are \u201cdevastated\u201d by his passing.<\/p>\n
\u201cI can only imagine what they\u2019re going through,\u201d he continued. \u201cThis is not Utah. This is not what we are known for.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to a statement from the Utah Department of Public Safety, Kirk attended an event yesterday that drew around 3,000 people.<\/p>\n
It further stated that Kirk\u2019s personal security detail was present at the event, along with six officers from the campus police department.<\/p>\n
According to Utah Valley University, the campus was evacuated right after and stayed closed.<\/p>\n
There will be no more classes till further notice.<\/p>\n
