Harrison Bader, an outfielder for the Phillies, hit a home run into the stands Friday while the team was playing the Marlins at LoanDepot Park.<\/p>\n
A fan who catches a ball that is hit into the stands gets to keep it, as is customary in baseball.<\/p>\n
The footage showed almost half a dozen spectators running into an empty row to block Bader\u2019s powerful smash, but it fell into the stands and was scooped up by a father who walked back to his place around five seats away and gave it to his thrilled kid.<\/p>\n
That could have been the end of it normally, but one fan was not going to give up and stormed over to the family demanding the ball.<\/p>\n
The grey-haired woman is seen in the video almost catching the ball, but she seems to fumble it and toss it to the ground.<\/p>\n
Where the ball was picked up is indicated by the heated argument between the father and the fan.<\/p>\n
Fan recorded footage shows the woman claiming, \u201cYou took it from me. It was in my hand.\u201d<\/p>\n
The supporter eventually returns to her seat with the reward after the frustrated father snatches the ball from his son, who the Phillies have named Lincoln.<\/p>\n
The fact that it turned out to be Lincoln\u2019s birthday just made the bad situation worse.<\/p>\n
The Marlins decided to put things right after witnessing the contentious scene unfold.<\/p>\n
The birthday kid is shown on camera receiving a prize bag from a Marlins staffer that includes baseballs for him and his sister, who is seated next to him.<\/p>\n
A video posted on social media shows the rep saying, \u201cWe brought you a cool little goodie bag.\u201d<\/p>\n
Despite the fact that Lincoln might not have caught the ball that Bader hit, the Phillies gave him a signed bat as a thank you after the game.<\/p>\n
